Mother's Day Started Early..

My Mom got me a GREAT mother's day gift... a new camera lens! This one is a Canon 55mm f/1.8...
I read about it on this Mamarazzi blog and I have been wanting it ever since. You can read about it at the link below, I am still learning --but I had fun playing with it today.

Growing fast..

Baby D is learning new tricks every day. It is hard to keep up. You can see from his pictures below he is now pulling up on things, including his crib. We are going to have to lower it... he also is teething pretty bad. Both bottom teeth and both top teeth came in within the last two weeks, he is doing pretty well all things considered, but he seems to be changing into a little boy right before my eyes.. maybe because he is.

"modeling"

So Auntie Natalie got this jacket for Baby D, I have been wanting to take pictures of him in it for a while.. since we were on a roll I figured today was the day. As I was trying to convince him to do it, I think I mentioned that Auntie Natalie gave it to him and she is a model so this would be fun.. I think he tried to show up his "competition", he looked pretty cute in it.. :)

Baby-Ness

I realized that I did not have many pictures of Baby D in just his diaper, you know the ones you later put in his senior yearbook or show to girlfriends who come over ... :) So I decided to take some pictures in all his "baby-ness"

He was bored with the idea..

Humm.. Conductor?

His new thing is to blow raspberries.. fun especially when he is eating!

His favorite Teddy Bear joining in the fun!

Fun with bubbles...
One of Baby D's baptism gifts was a bubble machine, We were not sure if he would get it just yet or just wonder what was flying his way. He seemed to really enjoy them, lots of laughter and tried to catch most of them with his mouth.

The First 7 Months...
I have heard Mom's say things like "Being a Mom is like having your heart live outside your body", or "Every time I look at him, my heart melts". Most who know me know I am a pretty logical practical person, mushy stuff just isn't really me. I have however come to realize that Darrian does strike a place in my heart that has never ever been touched. I can not formulate into words how much I love him, can not describe what the benefit of having him in my life has been. I know you are reading that and thinking.. "I thought she said she wasn't mushy". I am not, that hasn't changed, it isn't mush.. it is the truth.
The other night Darrian was teething and having a hard time staying asleep so I took him into our bed. He laid his head next to me on the sheets, got this grin on his face, and put his hand on my cheek.. he began to babble with such intent as if he was telling me his deepest dreams. I thought to myself, this is what they mean when they say your heart melts...

I have created a montage of Darrian's first 7 months in pictures (you knew I had to use them for something right). Happy Friday Everyone.
